The volunteers at CMC-NorthEast contribute crucial support in the Medical Center's mission to provide compassionate care to patients and their families. The award-winning volunteer organization has been recognized for staffing over 900 volunteer positions a month, giving over 750 hours per week and giving over 47,000 hours total last year. At present, 230 active adult and 60 junior volunteers provide varying levels of healthcare assistance and support in areas ranging from patient transport, floral deliveries, directing of incoming phone calls, delivery of food trays and assisting in the Pink Pinafore Gift Shop. Volunteers have been providing continuous service at CMC-NorthEast since 1962 and are easily identified through the wearing of their special uniforms of teal shirts, vests or jackets.
